I've had a few successes recently.
First- I found the single stamp that I needed to complete
Tete, Scott #34. I use the "Want
List" feature on HipStamp, and list stamps for countries where I am close
to completion. With this feature, once
the stamp is listed, HipStamp will then show the number of listings that exist
for that stamp. Now, the "Want
List" is not perfect-- often instead of showing a single stamp, clicking
on the "Items for Sale" button will result in displaying sets that
the seller has to offer. But after
looking for over a year for Tete #34, there was one listed on HipStamp.
Next, while my wife and I were on vacation this past week in
the Scottsdale, AZ area, I had the opportunity to visit the office of Michael
and Cecilia Ball (A to Z Stamps) in Tempe.
A to Z’s main stock room, was somewhere between 15-20 feet long, and the
long wall was covered in red boxes from floor to ceiling! I could have literally spent several days in
that room, but I only had a couple of hours, so I looked specifically for a few
countries where I needed either 1 or 2 stamps to complete. And I was able to find the stamps to
complete:
- Antigua
- France- Offices in Levant (Cavalle)
- French Congo
- Grand Comoro
- Horta
- Jamaica
- Mesopotamia
